Following recent events the committee has decided that the responsibilities of members in the event of accidents must be clearly understood. BFMA insurance covers third party claims but carries an excess of £50 which normally falls to the owner of the model. If any accident occurs whilst a club instructor or assistant instructor is in control, the responsibility still rests with the owner. The onus is, of course, on all fliers at all times to avoid situations leading to a risk of accident. In order to ensure that all flying members are fully aware of the position we ask that each member returns to with their application form one of the declarations below.
