r_pitts2.jpg (23521 bytes) Richard's "Pitts Special" - winner of the 2000 Concours d'Elegance. This model was scratch built from plans prepared by Richard himself. Laser 90 powered. Flys very convincingly.
d_pitts.jpg (22335 bytes) Dave's "Pitts Special" - built at the same time as Richard's - before Richard's had been test flown showing great faith in the designer.
redbaron.jpg (20335 bytes)
vector.jpg (16492 bytes) My V-Vector Q500 class pylon racer, this model has glass reinforced wings and is to be updated with a more powerful motor following the demise of the UK "Quiet Quickie" class.
n_kite.jpg (26319 bytes) Nick Reed's "ATS Kite" trainer - just the right thing to get you started - read what Nick has to say:- articles/ats_kite.htm
epanther.jpg (107588 bytes) Mick's  - "Dave Smith Model's" "Panther" modified for electric with a slightly deeper fuselage - uses Aveox 1406/4Y with Astro 2.38:1 gearbox on sixteen 1700 SCRC cells - flight performance is good but standard undercarriage was not up to the job. A.U.W. 4lbs 14oz.
td_easyb.jpg (136508 bytes) Ted Dalley's - "Easy Bee 38"
SP400 6V 5.5x4 Windsor prop
8 X 1250 NmH cells
A.U.W. 22 oz
funtigr3.jpg (66234 bytes) Tony Handley's  Thunder Tiger ARTF fun-fly. Irvine 46 + mouse.  Very good value at £70, some similar kits cost as much. Good build quality, reasonable quality accessories with the exception of the snakes. The rudder snake broke on first landing when the tailwheel touched down, the landing wasn't that too awful so I was a bit surprised. A.U.W. 5lb 8oz.
ezagi1.jpg (78737 bytes) Tony Handley's  Zagi is hard to launch and dislikes quick or excessive control input (rapid wing drop/spin). Bought 90% built at Sandown, speed 400 6 volt, 7 x 500mAh, Jeti Rx and speed controller.
A.U.W. 19 oz.
td_lb48.jpg (90476 bytes) Ted Dalley's - "Lazy Bee 48"

neuiport.jpg (193142 bytes) Dave O'Brien's Neiuport ???? --- winner of the 1999 concours d'elegance.

babyboss.jpg (97980 bytes) Mick Saxton's - "Airplanes Etc." "Baby Boss" fitted with OS 25 FX - this engine is too big & too  heavy for this plane - resulting in excessive speed - and unrelaxing flights.
mustp51d.jpg (113321 bytes) Mick Saxton's - Mustang P1D from "Rojair" kit fitted with OS 45Fx and retracts - goes well when take-off does not result in a flick roll!
gb_delta.gif (68510 bytes) Geoff Bignold's "Delilah" that has often appeared on Sunday mornings when the weather is calm. (It has an OS40 FP, span 46 inch andthe elevons are driven by a sliding servo mechanism, ~ 150 flights to date.)
gb_1&1.gif (73506 bytes) Geoff Bignold's twin "1&1" which has only flown at Leatherhead on a couple of occasions, although it has had plenty of useelsewhere. (It has two OS25 FPs, span 60 inch, weight 6 lb., ~ 50 flights to date.)
franks_p.jpg (20273 bytes) The last ever photo of Frank Bone's blue and orange Panther! 7th May 1999
fb_elec.jpg (22028 bytes) Franks latest own design electric. Fly's very well.
q500b.jpg (83352 bytes) Mick's Freedom Quiet Quickie class pylon racer - power Irvine Q40. Total write-off after mid-air collision at Elvington Oct 99.
stinger.jpg (115227 bytes) Mick's "Stinger" Sport 40 pylon racer MVVS 40 power. Not allowed at the club field!
Winner Group-B at Middle Wallop. 3rd at 1999 Nationals - more by luck than performance!
ctwin_p4.jpg (27186 bytes) It is a standard Hi-Boy airframe, 62" wingspan. Each nacelle was sized to fit one OS 25, its fuel tank and a mini-servo to operate the throttle. The nacelles are fitted below the wing and their structure goes through into the two wing spars. All up flying weight is about seven pounds, the thrust from the two 25's easily getting the whole thing airborne in only a few yards.

The very effective half-span flaps which are fitted actually slow the landing speed down to below that of a normal 4 channel Hi-Boy. So far it has flown 10 flights and whilst it will fly on one engine, it goes and sounds so much better on two!

c_ut.jpg (14726 bytes) Chris Upton-Taylor with a very fast looking Lighting prototype - test pilots required!
